CHALLENGE

Beds.co.uk are the largest online bed retailer in the UK, specialising in affordable leather beds, mattresses, fabric beds and kids beds across the UK.
Prior to working with Wow Group, Beds were experiencing technical issues with their website; this included increased downtime, security breaches and general unresponsiveness during peak traffic time.

With Black Friday approaching, Beds wanted to maximise profits. However, previous experience had told them that working with another supplier would mean that their website would struggle to survive the busiest shopping day of the year and in-turn, cause them to lose transactions.
Beds approached Wow Group to help them get back on track and prepare for the Black Friday weekend.

 

SOLUTION

Following 3 months of planning, Wow Group’s technical and design team created a meticulous website infrastructure and server environment.

The new conversion-lead website was built on a Magento platform, with user-experience at the heart of the design. It now ensured a much smoother transactional journey for customers and was able to handle website traffic, without going down.

With the appropriate sales information, AdWords and banners in place (in-line with Black Friday), Beds.co.uk was tested several times before going live.

 

RESULTS

The website went live on the Thursday before Black Friday and saw a 300% increase in website traffic.

With a transaction going through every 5 seconds and up to 1000 concurrent users, the website server ran smoothly and didn’t once struggle with speed.

This was the most commercially profitable Black Friday weekend for Beds; thanks to our team at Wow Group who had exceeded all expectations.
