Analysts Estimate that More Will Shop Online than go to Church This Year

Estimates are indicating that around 4.8 million people will purchase something online on Christmas day. The figures compare to an estimated 4.5 million who will attend an Anglican, Catholic, Methodist, Baptist or Pentecostal church service on Christmas Day.

The number is a 9% increase from the same period last year and will mark the first time that more people have shopped on Christmas day than worshipped.

It also displays the obsolescence of the Sunday Trading Laws in today’s society as access to the internet through an array of devices has made shopping quicker and more convenient.
