First Honeycomb Tablet to go on Sale in UK Next Month

Asus have announced that they will be releasing the first Google Android tablet to feature the new Honeycomb OS. The Asus Eee Pad Transformer will go on sale in the UK on the 6th April and will apparently cost £379, beating the Motorola Xoom to the shops after that tablet was touted as the first to use the technology.

The Eee Pad has a 10.1 inch screen and will feature an unmodified version of the Honeycomb system. It will also come preloaded with Polaris Office, a small office suite that includes a word processor, spreadsheet and presentation software.

Pre-orders at Amazon and eBuyer ar enow bing taken for the tablet, which also features an eight hour battery life and a special keyboard dock. Initially, only a WiFi version will be available, but a 3G version will be within about a month.
