Google’s New Anti-Spam Measures May Unfairly Affect SEO in Birmingham and Elsewhere

Google has been upping its struggle against low quality and spam based websites in recent months, culminating in the company eventually resorting to having the users of its search engine services do the job for them.

Users of the company’s Chrome browser are given the option to block websites in the Google search results in a single click. The general premise is that if a web user finds a low quality site, they can inform Google by blocking it, with enough blockages potentially leading to a ban.

However it could possibly have a side effect on websites handled by SEO technicians in Birmingham and elsewhere, as less scrupulous organisations could purposefully black-mark good websites in an attempt to have Google drop them down the rankings. It remains to be seen just what effect these new changes will have.
