Intel Debut New Processor at CES
The CES electronics exposition is under way in Las Vegas and Intel are already causing waves with the introduction of a brand new set of processors that it is claiming are the next generation in computer processing.
The new dual-core processors, nicknamed “Sandy Bridge” by the company, was highlighted by a simple presentation which simply informed attendees that the new 17 Sandy Bridge processor is 62% faster than the i7 chip shown last year at completing a set of video tasks.
The company also debuted “Intel Insider”, a set of video technologies and digital rights management controls that are tied into the Sandy Bridge processor. The intention is apparently to make Hollywood studios more comfortable with offering movies for rent or download online at the same time they are in theatres.
