Large Firms Now Looking to Web Designers

The demand for design workers from major technological corporations has risen in recent years, with huge companies like Microsoft, Cognizant, HCL and Wipro all looking at design graduates to become web designers.

The companies are all looking to boost the aesthetic appeal of their websites, products and services, with some estimates claiming that large scale technology firms are expected to contain 20-25% more web designers and other design experts over the next couple of years.

The move comes as c-commerce becomes more and more widely used, with larger firms finding that it is as crucial to have an attractive website as it is to have a functional one. This is the same across the board, with presentations over the web also becoming more important.

Rough estimates claim there are around 5,000 to 7,000 designers working in IT.
