#inthezone 34: Remain Focused

#inthezone 34: Remain Focused

Remain Focused

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to another week of #inthezone! If you’ve seen the news lately, you’re probably looking at Donald Trump or some other weird trend…it seems the world we live in really is all over the place! Most of us don’t even know how Donald Trump got as far as he is, perhaps it was just a joke that got out of hand, who knows?

Talking about things that got out of hand, Pokemon Go can probably be put in that same boat too. The worldwide craze (released 6th July in Australia and the US) has since been trending on most, if not all, social platforms. Furthermore, there are videos of people flocking in packs looking to catch rare Pokemon in parks, city centres etc. You name the location and we can guarantee someone’s already been there looking for a Pikachu!

Generally, the new game seems to be met with much positivity and optimism, for good reason too. Pokemon Go is encouraging people to be more social and be healthier (through numerous hours of walking). There are even stories of people meeting their girlfriend through the game…yeah we probably won’t go into that in more detail…

The real question is, what do you think? Yay or Nay? Have your say about Pokemon Go in the comments!

Being able to catch Pokemon in the real world isn’t the only thing you should be excited about, if you remember correctly, we have our second #DigitalZone event coming up in literally just under a week’s time! 21st July marks the #DigitalZone and #GetConnectedinSandwell collaborative event which will be held at (you guessed it right) Sandwell College! Make sure you register because the places are filling up fast. In fact, there are literally under 15 places left, and that’s not even accounting for the folks we’ve invited ourselves! Register NOW!

You thought #inthezone ends there? Oh god no! There is more to discuss, amigos. The excitement continues as David Cameron has officially stepped down from his role as Prime Minister. Theresa May is replacing him and Dave is probably out somewhere having a nice, cold pint. Good on you, Dave. Theresa has her sights set on leading us to greatness, which is just what we need after the aftermath of #BREXIT. The country is in need of firm leadership, which is (hopefully) what she’ll provide! The future is looking bright, amigos (yes we’re going to use that word a lot more now).

If you’re a sports fan, this next part may cause overexcitement. The biggest deal in sports history was made this week, and the money involved in the whole ordeal was a whopping $4 billion! The UFC was officially sold to talent agency WME-IMG. It just goes to show how far they’ve come. From the organisation being sold in 2000 for $2 million to now being sold for $4 billion, It’s been a hell of a journey for those involved. UFC President Dana White said that this would be the “next level” for MMA as a sport, and the UFC as an organisation.

That’s about all we have for this week’s #inthezone folks! To sum up, half of the world is worrying about the presidential election in America and the other half is worrying whether or not their Charmander will level up fast enough. Although all around us may seem chaotic, It’s important to keep grounded and remain focused on the task at hand. We may not always be in the most stable of environments, but if you remember to remain focused on your objective, you’ll never go wrong!
