Yell Employees Submit Thousands of Reviews to Yell Owned Trusted Places Website
Yellow Pages publisher Yell have been caught out boosting the content of their new social media website Trusted Places by having staff enter reviews onto the website to bolster its position and importance amongst review websites.
Staff at Yell’s Reading HQ were offered bonuses, including an iPad and Amazon Vouchers, to create reviews for the website, resulting in 6,700 reviews being written in a month.
This equates to 12.5% of all of the reviews currently on the website, however the company deny any wrong doing, claiming “We view our people as ambassadors, and it’s essential that they use and understand our products and services. All our people are consumers in their own right and perfectly entitled to an objective, genuine opinion.”
